Macao holds more than 1,000 meetings, exhibitions last year

MACAO -- A total of 1,381 meetings and exhibitions were held last year in China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), up by 105 year-on-year, the SAR's statistics service said on Tuesday.
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated more than 1,200 meetings and conferences, as well as more than 50 exhibitions and expos were held last year. The number of participants and attendees increased by 10.4 percent to 1.9 million.
Meanwhile, the revenue of exhibitions and expos reached 184 million patacas (about $22.89 million), with the majority of revenue generating from rental receipts of exhibition booths.
The exhibitions and expos attracted 5,533 exhibitors, with 28.6 percent of them coming from the Chinese mainland and 35.9 percent from the Macao SAR.
