More than 5,000 white swans were spotted recently at Donggu Lake in Yueyang, Hunan province. Against the morning sun, the birds presented a beautiful picture for tourists.
As the natural environment of the lake has improved, birds have migrated from Siberia every winter since 2020.
Donggu Lake, which is part of the vast Dongting Lake wetland area, has been attracting more bird species in recent years, including white cranes, little swans, cormorants and wild geese.
As the second-largest freshwater body in China, Dongting Lake plays an important role in the overall ecological balance of the Yangtze River Basin.
