China Railway Guangzhou Group adjusts weekend operations for weather safety

Selected trains operated by China Railway Guangzhou Group have adjusted their operating sections or suspended operation due to severe convective weather conditions, the railway operator announced on Friday.
From Friday evening to the early hours of Saturday, the southern part of Hunan province will experience rainfall, thunderstorms with strong winds and hail due to the combined influence of cold air and southwest warm and humid air currents, according to the National Meteorological Center.
To ensure the safety of passenger train operations, the Guangzhou railway group will adjust the operating sections or implement suspensions for some conventional-speed trains based on the scope of influence of the severe convective weather.
Specifically, 19 pairs of passenger trains will be suspended, most of which run through Hunan, from 6 pm on Friday to 6 am Saturday.
The railway department will dynamically adjust the train operation order according to the impact of the severe convective weather.
