2025 Shanghai Masters set to thrill snooker fans in July

The 2025 World Snooker Shanghai Masters will take place from July 28 to Aug 3 at the Luwan Gymnasium in Huangpu district.
The Shanghai Masters is a prestigious event showcasing the pinnacle of world snooker and stands as one of the most influential international sporting events in China.
This year's tournament features 23 matches, including the final, in a 24-player invitational format. The lineup boasts the world's top 16 ranked players, the highest-ranked four Chinese players (additional spots are granted if they are already in the top 16), and four wildcard entries.
Fans can look forward to witnessing the skills of world number one Judd Trump, alongside snooker legends like Mark Williams, Ronnie O'Sullivan, and John Higgins.
Remarkably, this year sees a record-breaking five Chinese players ranked within the top 16, marking a historic achievement for the tournament under its current format. Among them is Zhao Xintong, the first Chinese and Asian player to win the World Snooker Championship, after beating veteran Welshman Mark Williams 18-12 in the final. Zhao will be making his first domestic appearance in Shanghai since his triumphant win.
