Italy sings praise for children's choir from China

The Poly WeDo Children's Choir participated in the 62nd edition of the "Seghizzi" International Choral Singing Competition, which took place in Gorizia, Italy, from July 10 to 13.
As the only Chinese choral group competing in the event, which gathered 12 choirs from around the world, it won the "Audience Award".
The children's choir also joined the competition in 2023, winning the "Children's Voice" prize. Its conductor, Ma Ding, was also awarded the "Best Youth Conductor" prize.

The first "Seghizzi" Choral Singing Competition debuted in 1962 and became an international event the following year. More than 1,400 choirs and singers from 72 nations have participated in the event since its inception.
During their trip to Europe, the children's choir from China also performed at the State Opera Under den Linden in Berlin and the Musikverein in Vienna, as well as sharing the stage with local children's choirs.
