Tourism in Gansu province has remained robust this year, particularly in Dunhuang, a county-level city in Jiuquan.
Dunhuang, renowned for its desert and Gobi landscapes, welcomed 10.31 million visits from both domestic and international locations in the first half of 2025, increasing by 20.25 percent year-on-year, with tourism revenue hitting 9.58 billion yuan ($1.33?billion), up 37.84 percent year-on-year.
By introducing preferential tourism policies, offering new cultural creative products, enhancing immersive experiences, and upgrading service standards, the city has continued to drive tourism consumption.
