It isn't over yet. World Cup fever is still going strong at the Shanghai Expo's South Africa pavilion, where visitors are greeted by mascot Zakumi and a giant football.

"It is a good way to commemorate my journey to South Africa's pavilion and the FIFA World Cup," said Expo attendee Li Guo.

A large screen in the pavilion plays footage from the global competition, allowing fans to relive the excitement.

The structure is just a two-minute walk from the Joint Africa pavilion. It is modeled after rondavels, or traditional oval shaped African homes.

Elements from a World Cup stadium were also incorporated to give the building a modern twist, said Schoeman du Plessis, pavilion director.

Entitled "Rise of a Modern Economy - Ke Nako!", the pavilion receives around 30,000 visitors each day.

"[Its name] indicates South Africa is open for business, offering investment opportunities and a modern infrastructure," said Plessis.

And to ensure the crowds keep coming, a different theme is introduced each month.

September will focus on culture and heritage, while October will raise environmental awareness.

Plessis expects the pavilion will receive some 5 million visitors by Expo's end.

Today marks both national pavilion day and women's day. South Africa will celebrate at the Expo with a series of activities.

Platinum selling artist Thandiswa - lead vocalist of award winning group Bongo Maffin - is scheduled to perform.
