英國館設計師托馬斯?赫斯維克（Thomas Heatherwick）是當今英國建筑設計的代表性人物，由他設計的奧林匹克火炬臺、新式倫敦雙層巴士均廣受好評。

作為2015中英文化交流年（2015 UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange）的項目之一，在中國已開展多個建造項目的赫斯維克將先后在北京和上海展示他的創作。 這一由英國皇家藝術學院建筑系主任、Drue Heinz策展人凱特?古德溫（Kate Goodwin）策劃的“新世代英倫創造：走進赫斯維克工作室”（New British Inventors: Inside Heatherwick Studio）展覽圍繞“思考”（Thinking）、“制作”（Making）和“講述”（Storytelling）三大主題，展示赫斯維克工作室21年發展歷程中的諸多杰作，探索了其設計過程中的嚴謹，創新和精益求精，并展示相關設計作品以及作品的結構和材料。

New British Inventors: Inside Heatherwick Studio

The British Council’s major touring exhibition New British Inventors: Inside Heatherwick Studio is currently touring East Asia. The exhibition offers a window into the London-based practice, Heatherwick Studio, and features 1:1 scale prototypes, models, test pieces, drawings and photographs, providing a fascinating insight into the studio’s exploration of new ideas, materials, techniques and processes.

The international touring exhibition will visit Beijing and Shanghai from 5 June – 8 August 2015.
